<\/span><\/span>Presentation<\/h2>\n

The Department of Computing trains high-level engineers, who are generalists in the field of computing.<\/strong> The curriculum is centred around a common foundation focused on software design and implementation, with optional modules allowing students to specialise in specific areas of computing. Equipped with the latest technologies, the computer engineer is a versatile professional in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. They are proficient not only in software engineering, networks, systems, and architecture but also in information systems, data processing, decision support, and more. Computer engineers can contribute to research and development, specification, design, simulation, implementation, testing, and software integration. Their scientific knowledge, creativity, and adaptability enable them to quickly adapt to new situations and innovative concepts.<\/p>\n

Each student in the Computing department selects a specialisation option to deepen their knowledge in a particular area and broaden their education. The Security option focuses on securing computer and electronic systems. Its aim is to raise awareness among students about information protection issues, physical device security, and software implementations.<\/strong> Topics include developing security mechanisms (cryptography, secure programming, network security, trust, intrusion detection) as well as designing new attack methods. This option is supplemented by cybersecurity projects and internships. Although open to all students in the Computing specialism, it is limited to 20 students, with selection taking place at the end of the first semester.<\/p>\n

The cybersecurity programme at INSA Rennes benefits from the expertise of the local ecosystem, which includes industrial partners, as well as the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI), the Ministry of Defence, and researchers from the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
