Binational Challenge Bringing Together Prestigious French and British Institutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Entente Cordiale Day aims to promote Franco-British relations<\/strong> and contribute to joint reflection on today\u2019s most pressing global issues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025\u20132026 edition brought together more than 700 students from leading institutions<\/strong>, including HEC Paris, Sciences Po Paris, Sorbonne University, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge and King\u2019s College London. Romain Debreu, a first-year Master’s student in Cybersecurity, Science of Software and Hardware Security<\/a> at the University of Rennes<\/a>, took part in the Entente Cordiale Day Challenge under the banner of Les Jeunes IHEDN<\/em><\/strong>, alongside M\u00e9tisse Clain and Jeanne Dannenhoffer, both students specialising in international relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants were tasked with producing a solution-oriented research report in response to the theme \u201cConflict, Technology and World Security\u201d<\/strong>. The submissions were assessed by a panel of academic and professional experts. Ten teams from each country were then selected to take part in the Summit, where they presented their work orally before a jury comprising representatives from academia, public policy and related professional sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Team Focused on Tackling Disinformation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Jeunes IHEDN<\/em> team chose to focus its work on combating disinformation<\/strong>. Their report put forward a range of techno-political solutions, built around cooperation between willing states and purely technical approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their work drew on the cybersecurity education provided by ISTIC<\/a><\/strong> (University of Rennes), particularly in the fields of cryptography and privacy protection<\/strong>. CyberSchool events, such as The Cyber Thursdays<\/a><\/em> and the Winter Research School<\/a>, also helped shape their thinking<\/strong> by providing broader perspectives on cybersecurity challenges, careers and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team was awarded the Chirac Prize<\/strong>, corresponding to second place in the French ranking. In early June, the three students were received at the \u00c9lys\u00e9e Palace<\/strong> in recognition of the quality of their contribution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
