CTF Hack’Lantique 2026
On Saturday 7 March, 200 enthusiasts took part in the fifth edition of the CTF Hack’Lantique, a cybersecurity challenge organised by students from IMT Atlantique.

A competition organised by and for students
IMT Atlantique welcomed nearly 200 students, divided into over 40 teams, for the 2026 edition of CTF Hack’Lantique. For six hours, participants competed in a series of technical challenges across nine main categories: cryptography, forensics, hardware, network, OSINT, programming, reverse engineering, web, and miscellaneous.
Organised by 8 students as part of an educational project, and supported by academic staff, this educational capture the flag (CTF) encourages learning through practice and teamwork. Participants were able to engage with real-world scenarios and develop key cybersecurity skills in a stimulating environment.
At the end of the competition, the final rankings were as follows:
- H4cking5cho0l (ESNA Bretagne)
- Les Bisous du serveurs (IMT Atlantique & CentraleSupélec)
- Epitech
The winning team, H4cking5cho0l, received several prizes: an Arduino Uno Q for each member, a portable power bank, and a place to participate in BreizhCTF, a leading event in the Rennes cybersecurity ecosystem.
“Coup de cœur” awards were also given by mentors from partner companies to recognise engagement, progress, and team spirit beyond the rankings.
An event supported by the cybersecurity community
CTF Hack’Lantique relies on a strong ecosystem of academic, industrial, and institutional partners, including APIXIT, Orange Cyberdefense, Rennes Métropole, EDF, the DGSE, the DGA, the Pôle d’Excellence Cyber, and Airbus. The CyberSchool was also pleased to renew its support for the 2026 edition.
Mentor engineers were present throughout the competition to assist teams in solving challenges and to enrich their experience.
Beyond performance, the event highlights emerging talent in cybersecurity and serves as a genuine learning platform. Students can explore new disciplines, strengthen their technical skills, and grow in a collaborative environment.
