Event: ‘Women & Cybersecurity – Together for Digital Security’

The event ‘Women & Cybersecurity: Together for Digital Security,’ organised by CyberSchool, ESTIMnumérique, and the CErcle des Femmes de la CYberSécurité (CEFCYS) as part of cybermoi/s, took place on Tuesday, October 10th, and was truly inspiring.

On the agenda: presentation of the initiatives taken by ESTIMnumérique to support women in their educational journeys and panel discussion featuring women experts in the field of cybersecurity who shared their academic scientific backgrounds, experiences, careers, anecdotes and advice.

The speakers addressed crucial topics, such as the career choices of young girls, who sometimes tend to gravitate towards less technical professions, and the challenges women may face when negotiating their salaries or applying for positions that don’t perfectly align with their profiles. They also highlighted the reality of a professional world often perceived as male-dominated in this field, emphasizing the importance of wit and a sense of humor.

The interactions with the audience were enlightening and conveyed an essential message: believe in your dreams and have confidence in yourself, as there will always be people ready to support you on your journey and lend a helping hand.

A big thank you to the speakers, Mélissa, Bénédicte, Héloïse, Océane, and Cecilia, who brilliantly shed light on the challenges many women face in the field of cybersecurity and stressed the importance of promoting STEM disciplines among young girls, encouraging diversity in this field, and shattering stereotypes.
