Flag’Malo 2025

The 9th edition of the Flag’Malo CTF brought together nearly 180 participants at the IUT of Saint-Malo for an intense day of competition focused on cybersecurity.

Flag’Malo: An event by students, for students

Organised by the students of the Networks & Telecommunications department at the IUT of Saint-Malo, Flag’Malo 2025 involved over 20 staff members, all highly motivated and creative. Their long-term efforts, which spanned an entire year of preparation, challenge writing, and testing, resulted in a smooth, well-structured edition suitable for a wide audience.

Nearly 90 challenges across 11 categories awaited the participants, offering a rich variety covering programming, cryptography, networking, reverse engineering, and more. This allowed everyone to improve and put their skills into practice by exploiting vulnerabilities to capture the famous “flags.”

Tough challenges and well-deserved rewards

The 32 participating teams had 9 hours to solve as many challenges as possible. The atmosphere, both focused and friendly, encouraged collaboration, healthy competition, and determination until the very last minute.

At the end of the day, the team “Crepistes” took first place. The team “Diiage” came second, followed by “HackTomateOignon” in third. Congratulations to them, as well as to all participants for their commitment and energy.

The event benefited from the support of several key partners: Orange, Icodia, Apixit, Rubycat, and the IUT of Saint-Malo, which once again hosted the competition on its premises. CyberSchool also renewed its support, proud to contribute each year to this educational CTF and to enable several teams from its consortium to take part.
