Immersive Learning: Future CISOs Connect with Cybersecurity Start-ups
The first-year Master’s students in Cybersecurity with CISO specialisation at ISTIC continue their hands-on training by visiting three new cybersecurity companies.
A training rooted in real-world industry experience
As part of their academic programme, the CISO students (Year 1) recently had the opportunity to engage with several major and innovative players in the cybersecurity sector. This initiative reflects the desire to offer a training programme that remains closely aligned with the realities of the field. Following insightful visits to Orange Cyberdefense and Capgemini, two major corporations based in Rennes, the students broadened their perspective by discovering smaller, high-impact organisations.
One scale-up and two start-ups welcomed them:
- GLIMPS, a malware detection and analysis platform that leverages Deep Learning and the expertise of its CTI professionals;
- Daspren, an AI-based solution focused on data protection and threat detection, particularly “zero-day” vulnerabilities;
- Nybble Security, which offers a 24/7 security alert processing approach grounded in a global community of experts—known as the Nybblers—and inspired by bug bounty principles applied to defence (blue team).
Inspiring and educational encounters
These exchanges allowed students to confront their theoretical knowledge with real-world situations, explore current technological challenges, and immerse themselves in innovative approaches to information systems security. They also had the chance to engage directly with passionate professionals who shared their career insights, experiences, and the challenges they face daily.
A heartfelt thank you to Aurélie Beltramino, Camille Le Vigouroux, Belkacem Teibi, Mathieu Thiery, Jérôme Langlois, and Corentin Rosnarho for their warm welcome and the quality of the discussions.
