Orange Cyberdefense Opens Its Doors to Cybersecurity Students
Students from the University of Rennes’ two Master’s Cybersecurity programmes started the year with a unique opportunity: a visit to Orange Cyberdefense to discover how a leader in the field operates.

At the heart of the professions and international organisation
The Master’s Cybersecurity, Science of Software and Hardware Security, and the Master’s Cybersecurity with CISO specialisation students were welcomed by the HR team, the Director of the CyberSOC Business Unit, and an alumnus of ISTIC. This visit allowed the students to gain a hands-on understanding of the various cybersecurity roles within the company: threat detection and response, pentesting, governance, software development, and many other strategic functions.
They also gained insight into Orange Cyberdefense’s international structure, which operates on a “follow the sun” model to ensure continuous monitoring and 24/7 protection of systems and data. This approach highlights the complexity and importance of global coordination in such a critical sector as cybersecurity.
Meeting with the HR Team: Advice and Opportunities
Beyond exploring the different roles, the students met with the Rennes HR team. Discussions focused on career paths within the company, the skills sought, and recruitment expectations. The students were able to ask questions, receive practical advice, and gain a clearer understanding of potential career trajectories, whether for internships or positions after graduation.
