Presentation
The engineering programme at CentraleSupélec spans over 3 years. Students undergo a first year of general studies, including courses in the field of computer science (SIP courses, algorithmics, Security & Networks…).
From the second year onwards, students can choose to follow the InfoSec track, where they address societal issues, entrepreneurship, and research. This track offers enhanced computer science training in the second year (InfoSec 1) and specialised cybersecurity training in the third year (InfoSec 2).
The second year will allow any student interested in a mention in computer science to acquire both solid foundations in computer science and an opening to other domains, such as IoT or industrial control systems, the securing of which is currently a challenge. Throughout the year, students will study 2 main themes: one aimed at providing students in the track with the keys to understanding the functioning of an application, software, and computer network; the second focusing on lower-level aspects such as hardware architecture, compilation, and operating systems.
The third year enables these students, already equipped with a strong computer science background, to acquire all the knowledge and best practices in computer security. Throughout the year, students cover 3 major themes: ‘Data and Usage Protection’, ‘System Protection’, and ‘Threat Awareness and Security Audits’.
Who can apply ?
If you wish to obtain the Diplôme d’ingénieur parcours InfoSec, you must have completed a Classe préparatoire scientifique aux Grandes Écoles.
Internship and work-study programme
Students must undertake a final internship during their 3rd year (InfoSec2). This internship marks the end of the engineering students’ education, allowing them to fully integrate into the professional world thereafter.
Students also have the option to complete their years of training through a work-study programme. They are therefore required to find a hosting company and sign an apprenticeship contract.
