Presentation

This full-time specialty aims to provide engineers with the necessary skills to audit, design, develop, maintain and evaluate complex software systems.

This specialty includes a common programme for all students in the first year (2 semesters), which allows them to acquire all the core skills required for a digital engineer. Students develop skills in engineering mathematics, software development and the digital environment. Students develop soft skills (management, administration, marketing and communication) and acquire a variety of working methods and professional skills – both individual and group-based – as well as improving their interpersonal skills and oral and written expression in French and foreign languages. Students are also introduced to the world of work through compulsory work placements.

In the last three semesters of the degree programme, students can select one of three options.

The final three semesters of the programme are structured into three options, with two options related to cybersecurity: Information Systems and Computer Science – IoT, Security and Smart Cities.

Joint degree

To further specialise in cybersecurity, students have the opportunity to enrol in a double degree programme during their 3rd and final year of the engineering cycle, in the Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity track at the University of Rennes (ISTIC). They will thus join the second year of the master’s programme.

In September, students will undertake three modules of the Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity track and will be required to complete a project during the first semester. They will also need to undertake an internship in the field of cybersecurity.

Who can apply ?

If you wish to join the Engineering programme, Computer Science Specialty, you must hold:

Esir also offers all its students the opportunity to spend the 9th and 10th semesters (Bac +5) alternating between periods in the company and at the school through a professional training contract.

International Mobility

In order to obtain their diploma, ESIR engineering students must undertake an international experience of at least 12 weeks. Mobility is recommended in the final year of the engineering cycle and can currently take the form of:

  • An internship abroad in a company or university laboratory
  • A semester or a year at a foreign university (mainly in Europe and North America)
